I photographed these pansies in the wild. The botanical name is 'Viola arvensis'. They occur quite often in the Netherlands.
I love the color combination of these flowers. Purple and yellow are contrasting colors.
The purple color gives peace to the interior. The yellow of the flowers gives an extra positive, energetic energy. These flowers give a sunny and happy feeling. The white in this photo gives the image a fresher and lighter look. Together with the green it forms a harmonious whole.
A fun fact about these flowers is that the seeds remain germinable for up to 20 years. Baths and compresses with the flower extract of these violets can help with certain skin conditions. So they are medicinal flowers.
This photo I made in the countryside in Heeze. A small village near Someren in Brabant.
If you look at the pansy in the middle of the photo, you can see that the white leaves form a heart. This made me instantly fall in love with this photo.
