The watercolour painting shows a minimalist composition of overlapping geometric shapes in shades of red, green and yellow. A white star shape is placed prominently in the centre, creating a balanced, harmonious composition.
Festive minimalist star is a watercolour painting in portrait format hand-painted by the artist Karen Kaspar.
The painting is part of my small series of four paintings with the theme 'Festive Minimalism'. The series consists of minimalist compositions of overlapping geometric shapes such as rectangles and circles in the traditional Christmas colours of red, gold and green. These shapes each enclose an area left white, representing a Christmas tree, a candle, a bauble and a star.
You can find more pictures with Christmas motifs in my album 'Christmas and Winter'.
