For more than a year, the 55m Giant Wheel "The View" defined the view at Steenplein and the Scheldt quays in Antwerp. From the wheel you had a wonderful panorama over the city center, Left Bank and the port of Antwerp.
The Ferris wheel was built for the 2020 Christmas market but due to corona measures and lockdowns, the attraction was not allowed to open. Since it was too expensive to take down immediately it remained standing. At first it was only planned for a few weeks, but it stood there for a total of 14 months, much to the delight of us photographers ! For say it yourself, it is a very photogenic subject and gives extra atmosphere to the cityscape.
I have been there several times to capture the beautifully lit Ferris wheel on film and each time you get a different picture. This photo has mostly pink, purple and blue tones and was taken on a clear night.
