Ferdinand Leeke (1859-1937) was a German painter who is particularly known for his illustrations of Richard Wagner's operas. Born on 7 April 1859 in Burg near Magdeburg, he studied at the Munich Academy under Ludwig von Herterich and Sándor Liezen-Mayer. Leeke also worked as an illustrator for magazines such as "Die Gartenlaube" and illustrated works such as the "Deutsche Heldensagen" by Richard Weitbrecht.
