The Vrijthof (Maastricht: de Vriethof) is a square in Maastricht city centre. It is the largest square in the centre of the Limburg capital. The square is best known for its many monuments - including a 'church twin' unique to the Netherlands, various cultural facilities, a series of annual events and the many café terraces. Vrijthof's history is unique in the Netherlands due to its continuous use since Roman times.
