The picture shows a single, almost floating branch of a Japanese fan maple (Acer palmatum), whose leaves are a deep, almost black-red colour. The composition is greatly reduced: The branch emerges clearly from a dark, neutral background, emphasising the fine leaf structure and natural lines.
The idea for this work arose from the desire to show the quiet elegance of the maple in an almost abstract form. Inspired by Japanese aesthetics and the principle of reduction, I wanted to create a picture that radiates calm and concentration - without appearing decorative.
The atmosphere is calm, almost meditative. The picture invites you to take in the details and recognise the beauty of nature in its clear form. The message is restrained but present: there is strength in stillness.
In interior design, this work acts as a graphic statement. It is particularly suitable for modern, minimalist spaces, where its clear design language and deep colour effect create a calm but striking presence - ideal for living areas, work environments or places of contemplation.
