"Family feeling: three stages of the Bull Thistle" is a macro photo of 3 bulbs of a Bull Thistle, each bulb is in a different stage of development. Because of these differences in development and also in size, it looks like a family in the photo.
The largest bulb is already in full bloom, it looks soft and if you zoom in on the bulb, you can see all light blue - purplish dainty leaves.
The middle bulb looks prickly. The top of the bulb, however, is already starting to flower. Here you can see the soft graceful structure of the flowering leaves. The underside of the bulb forms a nice contrast to this, rectilinear.
The smallest bulb at the bottom is still completely prickly.
The background is a kind of mossy green colour. Because the I chose to use a shallow depth of field, where the focus is on the front of the bulbs, this background becomes blurred. And because the background has a fluffy-like texture, the photo creates a kind of blended green background.
Beautiful as a wall decoration for the living room above the sofa, for example! (but can of course shine just as well in a waiting room, practice room, study or bedroom).
