Otto Eduard Leopold von Bismarck-Schönhausen (Schönhausen, April 1, 1815 - Friedrichsruh, July 30, 1898), count from 1865, prince von Bismarck from 1871, duke zu Lauenburg from 1890, was a German 19th-century statesman and a dominant figure in world history.
As prime minister of Prussia, from 1862 to 1890, he oversaw German unification. In 1867, he became Chancellor of the North German Union. He was the designer of the German Empire in 1871, became its first Chancellor of the Exchequer, and dominated affairs of state until he was sidelined in 1890 by the new Kaiser, Wilhelm II of Germany.
Franz von Lenbach (Schrobenhausen, December 13, 1836 - Munich, Bavaria, Germany May 6, 1904) was a German painter from the realist school, best known as a portrait painter.
The painter transferred to the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich in 1854. He painted in the Classicism style.
