Curious cows take centre stage in this work, made in early May 2025 in the South Limburg village of Eys. They form a charming and lively element in the quiet landscape. Every time I carefully took a step forward, they galloped around the meadow, only to return full of curiosity and wait to see who would take the next step. Their soft silhouettes stand out beautifully against the golden glow of the sunrise and the wafer-thin morning mist stretching between the trees and across the grassland. In the background, you can see the outline of the village and church tower of Eys looming, like an anchor point in the rolling landscape.
This photo was not taken at random. The location was carefully selected via Google Maps, visited a day in advance, and paying attention to the right weather forecast, I returned early in the morning. When fog also formed, everything fell into place: composition, light and atmosphere. The result is a work that feels both warm and dreamy - an ode to the countryside in its purest form.
In an interior, this work brings tranquillity, rusticity and a touch of humour through the lively looks of the cows. Perfect for lovers of the outdoors, nostalgia or rural living.
