Walking around Cimetière du Père-Lachaise, you come across beautiful and unusual sculptures. Especially when weather and wind have exerted their influence on the sculptures, a special atmosphere is created. Then, when the weather is also a bit gloomier, you get pictures that do justice to the mystical atmosphere of this cemetery.
With 69,000 tombstones, 30,000 of which have historic monument status, it is a special experience to walk around here and it is not surprising that 3.5 million visitors a year come to visit Pere-Lachaise.
