About ‘Exhibition World Trade Center Rotterdam’ by Guido Akster

The low-rise building of the current Beurs complex was designed by architect J.F. Staal and was built between 1936 and 1940. During the bombing of Rotterdam on 14 May 1940, the Beurs building took several hits, but this damage could be repaired fairly quickly. In 1941, the Beurs on Coolsingel reopened. This building with numerous functions contained not only many trade fairs but also shops, meeting rooms, a bar and offices. In 1973, the low-rise building was given an extra floor. Architect of this extension was Arthur Staal, the son of J.F. Staal. It also houses a catering establishment called "Staal". Many business people come daily to have their lunch in the restaurant on the second floor, or in summer on the terrace below on Coolsingel and Beursplein. On the third floor is still RoomSteel, the former meeting room of the Chamber of Commerce. It is currently used for weddings, conferences, parties, etc. [1]

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
