The large evening pintail is a large butterfly with a wingspan of 45 to 60 mm. The forewings of this pintail have pink and olive-green spots and stripes. The under wings are pink with a black base. The thorax, head and tail also have olive green and pink stripes. On the olive-green thorax is a rather sharply outlined pinkish-red line pattern that continues in a longitudinal stripe across the abdomen. There is no difference between the male and female and little variation in colour and markings. source wikipedia
