Fort du Petit Bé

Wait until low tide and then walk to this private islet for a guided tour and to stay overnight in a seventeenth-century fort.
Just off the coast of Saint-Malo is the private tidal island of Petit Bé, containing a 17th-century fort designed by renowned military engineer Sébastien Le Prestre de Vauban. At low tide, the island can be reached on foot from the neighbouring island of Grand Bé or from Plage Bon-Secours on the mainland. Let the owner show you around the island and read an English brochure to learn more about the fascinating military history of this territory.
Take some great photos's of the iconic fort, which was designed to resist attacks by British and Dutch. The fort was built in 1689 as part of a defensive work designed by Vauban, just like the city walls and other forts in the region. Find out how the fort contributed to its successful defence against the fleets in 1693 and 1695.

Enjoy beautiful views of the neighbouring island of Grand Bé and Plage Bon-Secours, located just outside Saint-Malo's city walls.
Make sure not to get overwhelmed by the rising waters, as you will be stuck on the island for six hours. Never swim back to the mainland as the current here is very treacherous. Get information on the tide schedule from the Saint-Malo tourist office.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
