Eve ("mother of all living"), according to Genesis in the Hebrew Bible, was the first woman, created directly by God from a rib of Adam, the first man.
In the Bible, Eve is the first person to sin by eating a fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. She did so on the advice of a talking snake.
