About "Eurasian owl, (Strix uralensis)"

About the artwork

The barred owl (Strix uralensis) is a fairly large bird in the family of owls (Strigidae). The species is smaller than the related lapland owl, but much larger than the also related tawny owl. This owl is 50 to 62 cm long and has a wingspan of 124 to 134 cm. The female is on average larger and heavier (0.57 to 1.3 kilograms) than the male (0.5 to 0.95 kilograms). It is a medium-sized owl, larger than the tawny owl but smaller than the lapland owl. The owl is relatively light in color, with a large round head and dark eyes giving the impression of a "friendly face". The wings lack a distinct pattern as in the lapland owl which has light patches. The flight is powerful and purposeful, resembling that of the buzzard. The tail is quite long, wedge-shaped and evenly banded. The subspecies do not differ much in plumage between them.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
