Arriving in Hoek van Holland from the UK always offers a feeling of coming home. This photo captures the beautiful view from the ferry on a clear day with calm weather. In the foreground is the Queen Emma Boulevard, an iconic spot in Hook of Holland. Behind it stretches the Seinpad, with its charming white houses with red roofs defining the skyline of this historic coastal town.
It was a perfect day with an enchanting cloud cover and soft sunlight. The addition of a seagull that happens to fly through the frame gives the shot a dynamic and authentic character, completing the picture. This photo is part of the Villa Joep Collection 2022, an initiative to contribute to charity through photography. My entire commission on the sale of this photo will be donated to Villa Joep Foundation, which works to fight childhood neuroblastoma cancer.
This shot is not only a tribute to the beauty of Hoek van Holland, but also an opportunity to contribute something to a greater cause. Order this unique photo from the Villa Joep Collection and help make a difference!
