Endless layers of blue horizon and gentle movement

by Color Square

Horizontal strips overlap in layers, with different shades of blue dominating. The deep, rich colours suggest an abstract representation of a landscape, such as a sea or a horizon with mountains, but without clear contours. The paint strokes vary in intensity, from almost translucent layers at the top to the dark, saturated blue tones at the bottom. The contrast between the deep blue and the light beige background in the centre of the work creates a captivating balance between lightness and heaviness.

The upper layers flow gently into each other, as if a haze or mist blurs the boundary between heaven and earth. In the lower layers, the brushstrokes are coarser and more expressive, giving the impression of depth and movement, almost as if the surface of the water were lightly touched by the wind.

The subtle blurs and textures in the blue tones are striking, evoking a sense of calm and endlessness, similar to gazing at a vast ocean or a distant horizon. The abstraction of the work leaves much to interpretation, but the serene colour combination makes it particularly soothing.
