In Scotland, as in all of Britain, there are lots of castles. Some are just ruins, some are world-famous. Eilean Donan Castle is world-famous and perhaps the most photographed castle in Scotland. And it was a ruin. Bombed and shot to pieces and fully restored less than 100 years ago. Located on the west coast of Scotland with Loch Duich and the ever-changing weather as a backdrop, this castle gives a thousand and one opportunities for the photographer and artist. In autumn, the hills and nature turn from green to yellow, orange, red and brown and wild cloudscapes give not just rain but drama. In fact, you don't want to leave but wait for new opportunities.
