About ‘Eiffel Tower in the evening’ by Gerard Oonk

The Eiffel Tower in Paris is probably one of the most photographed structures in the world. I wanted a different perspective. It ended up being an evening shot right below the metal monument, and while you can see a certain symmetry, it is without complete equality/reflection of the halves in the image. To my mind, this makes for a slightly more exciting photo. The yellow artificial light adds some softness in the dark evening, and the photo is razor-sharp from bottom to top. You can count the rivets -if you wanted to-. This image approach shows extra clearly what a masterpiece this monumental beacon of the city of lights is. Homage to all those builders at the end of the 19th century.
