The White House at the Wijnhaven in Rotterdam is an office block built in 1897-1898 to a design by the architect W. Molenbroek. Since then, the 43-metre-high building has long been regarded as the tallest building in Europe. According to Unesco, it is now one of the 100 most important monuments in the Netherlands. The yellow building in the background is the 70 meter high residential building Wijnhaeve from 2009.
