About "Earth melt"

About the artwork

This painting presents a dystopian scene depicting an apocalyptic city on a sloping hilltop, as if the entire landscape has sunk down. The atmosphere is one of desert and desolation.

In the foreground of the scene there is a river or stream that flows in a circular fashion around the rocky landscape. A prominent rocky outcrop juts into the river, and rocks and boulders line the banks. These elements give the scene a raw and rough quality that emphasises the destruction of the surroundings.

The incidence of light in the scene is dramatic and dull, and darker clouds in the sky complete the image of a strangely decayed world. The river flows through the described circle in a whirlpool form, which per se creates a restless and threatening atmosphere.

A mountain range stretches out on the horizon, framing the landscape and posing a further challenge to the city. These mountains, together with the clouds, seem like an insurmountable barrier and underline the feeling of isolation and abandonment.

Overall, this painting gives the impression of a world in decline and a city defeated by the forces of nature and the passage of time. It expresses the idea that nature is ultimately more powerful than anything man has created and that the marks of decay are unstoppable. It asks the viewer to reflect on the consequences of our actions on the environment and to recognise the vulnerability of human existence in the face of the forces of nature.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
