The Franzenshöhe (popularly known as the Kalter Muff) is a forested elevation of 702.8 m on the Geyer Plateau in the Ore Mountains. The elevation consists mainly of paragneiss. Except for some source areas north of the Franzenshöhe, where humus-Staugley predominates, the elevation is exclusively covered with gneiss brown soil.
