The jaguar is a predator found in Central and South America. Jaguars are threatened by poachers and deforestation. They live in a varied wetland landscape with lots of bushes. Jaguars are enormously strong and can graze their prey with one bite, They mainly eat mammals and caimans. Jaguars are excellent swimmers and hunt prey over land and through water. I photographed the Jaguar you see in this picture during a photography trip to the Pantanal in Brazil.
