A beautiful and warm portrait of a pair of Drentse heath sheep on the moors in Drenthe. The Drentse heath sheep is the oldest breed of sheep in Western Europe. Both ewes and rams have horns. The image was made in a management area of Staatsbosbeheer on the Hondsrug. The sheep are looking to the left and the focus is on the sheep on the right, which is nicely detached from the forest in the background. A warm atmospheric image from the autumn season fitting a rural decorating style.
