What eyes!
A dragonfly, also known as a dragonfly, is a flying insect belonging to the order Odonata. They are beautiful and colourful insects with an elongated body and large, often transparent, wings. Dragonflies are known for their ability to fly fast and agile. They can fly both forwards and backwards and have excellent eyesight thanks to their large facet eyes.
Dragonflies are loved by nature lovers and are often admired for their beauty and flying skills. They also play an important role in ecological systems as predators and pollinators. In many cultures, dragonflies are associated with change, transformation and spiritual meanings.
Dragonflies come in mini and maxi, and everything in between. The dwarf dragonfly is the smallest, not exceeding 2 cm (wingspan 2.5 cm). The giant among our dragonflies is the common spring dragonfly with a length of 8.5 cm, but in terms of wingspan, the great imperial dragonfly takes the crown with a record 10.5 cm.
