The Disciplinary House, popularly called 'the correction', was the country's second modern prison.
The prison closed in 1871 and was later used as an army barracks. Now it is the hub of a prestigious urban renewal project.
Nevertheless, the past has been preserved and an old wing has been restored. The BBC also used the Disciplinary House as a location for the successful television series Les Misérables.
