About "Dirac's Belts Swimming in Dirac's Sea"

About the artwork

The drawing illustrates how a rotation by 720° can be undone, in a way a 360° rotation can't. Dirac's Belt Trick also goes by the name of "plate trick, and it is usually introduced in relation to spins in quantum mechanics. But the trick shows that the topology of rotations in 3D space is generally weirder than one might think.

"Dirac Sea" is related to an interpretation of an aspect of Dirac's theory of the electron before the electron's antiparticle had been detected. What became the positron was once interpreted as positive holes in a sea of electrons.

Watercolor pencils, watercolor markers, acrylics, gel pen on A3 paper. I've staged my own belt and kilogram weight.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
