The Dassault Mirage 5 is a 1960s fighter by French aircraft manufacturer Dassault Aviation. The aircraft has been in service with the Belgian Air Force, among others. Belgium was also the largest user of the Mirage 5, with more than a hundred examples. Like its predecessor, the Mirage 5 became a successful aircraft in export. Several variants were developed in addition to its original role of attack fighter-good-weather. For instance, avionics were reinstalled. There was also a reconnaissance version (5R) and a training aircraft (5D) with two seats.
