Dandelion, from French dent-de-lion, meaning “lion’s tooth”, a reference to the little 'teeth' at the tip of its yellow petals. So many people try to eradicate this "weed" from their paths and lawns but look at just how beautiful a flower this is and, moreover, it flowers very early in the year and is an important early source of nectar and pollen for honeybees and wild bees.
