About "Dance of Devotion"

About the artwork

In the painting Dance of Devotion, Michael Albano captures a deeply personal and cultural scene. The work shows a traditional praying woman of the Santo Niño Church in Cebu performing a ritual dance. On request, these women perform the Sinulog dance, a ritual dance in honour of the Holy Child, moving rhythmically to the beat of drums and chants. The dance symbolises the transition from paganism to Christianity and is characterised by two steps forward and one step back, which is said to mimic the undulations of the river.

As a former street child, Michael spent a lot of time at the Santo Niño church, where he witnessed these rituals. In this painting, he captures the essence of the devotion and faith this dance exudes. The praying woman, dressed in traditional clothing, moves gracefully as candlelight surrounds her, creating an atmosphere of spirituality and hope. The painting reflects not only a religious ritual, but also Michael's personal journey and the cultural richness of Cebu.Dance of Devotion

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
