During spring, daisies can be seen all over the Netherlands. These little flowers (Bellis perennis) have many names. In the vernacular, the daisy is also called meizoentje or meizoetje and elsewhere you hear the name lief-kruid and meliefke. Ultimately, all names derive from 'Virgo daisy'. It is said to be the flower that is dear to the Blessed Virgin. And so there are all sorts of hypotheses about the origin of the name.
So these daisies have quite a history and deserve a vintage or retro touch.
