Dutch heritage, photographed in 1959 on the quayside of New York: the New Amsterdam steamship, built for the Rotterdam Holland-America Line. For almost a century, the HAL was the fastest way to get from the Netherlands to the United States. And possibly back again. Nieuw Amsterdam was the flagship of its time, and according to many, the most beautiful Dutch passenger ship ever built. Imagine: this impressive bow as an artwork above your sofa!
