A cow is a female cow and as a mother an important producer of milk. A cow is milked an average of 315 days a year. This comes down to an average production of 8000 liters of milk per cow per year. Some cows produce as much as 100,000 litres of milk during their lifetime.
A cow can reach the age of 20 years. Nowadays, however, the average dairy cow is only five to six years old. She is then replaced by a heifer, a young cow, which often has better genetic potential.
Personally, I just think the cow is a beautiful animal.
