The Doelenbrug is a masonry fixed arch bridge consisting of three arches in the of the Dutch city of Leiden. The bridge connects both the Doelensteeg and the Houtstraat. Next to the goal bridge lies the Rijksmuseum of Antiquities, which was founded in 1818.
The Doelen bridge begins as the "quaeckel bridgetgen" at the end of the 14th century. By quaeckel is meant a high steep pedestrian bridge. Through this bridge the Leiden archers, who took care of the defence of the city, walked to the goal area to train. Presumably, the bridge was replaced from wood to stone in 1578. In 1610 the bridge was renewed and in 1637 wooden railings were installed. Iron railings were installed in 1668.
