Container ship past the piers to the port of Amsterdam.
On a summer's day walking on the south pier at IJmuiden I saw this container ship approaching.
The pilot at the helm, the sun shining. And waiting ships at anchor on the horizon.
The container ship on its way to the port of Amsterdam. It passes IJmuiden with in the background the north pier of Wijk aan Zee. Container ships with goods from all over the world in their holds.
The colors and calm sea and a fresh bow wave made for a great photo. I often walk on the piers or in the harbors. The ships sailing or moored loading or unloading always beautiful to see.
Raw and the port as it is the people who work there. The images I see there I like to photograph because it is art in itself. The harbor is a different world. The landscape of the harbor is always changing. The ships, the people and the landscape continue to fascinate me.
