During the blue hour on this beautiful morning, a colour spectacle takes place over the IJsselmeer. The rising sun turns the clouds in the sky from orange to purple and blue. The long shutter speed makes the water calm, while the washed-up red ship's rope offers a nice contrast against the black rocks. Great enjoyment of Holland's waterland.
The IJsselmeer is part of the IJsselmeer region and was created by closing off part of the Zuiderzee. The Afsluitdijk was completed on 28 May 1932 and the official name change of the closed part of the Zuiderzee took place on 20 September 1932. The lake was named after the river IJssel, which flows into it.
