On this cold windless morning on the Markermeer near Hoorn, it is lovely to wake up. A thin layer of hoarfrost covers the basalt blocks, indicating that it has been a cold night. The poles of the fishing nets stick out above the calm water and serve as a resting place for some birds. The rising sun tries to dispel the last vestige of clouds. The start of a sunny cold winter day.
