The Reichsburg Cochem (German: Reichsburg Cochem) is a castle situated on a high mountain cone in the German town of Cochem on the Moselle. It is 100 metres above the town and served as a toll castle in the Middle Ages. According to the latest research, the castle was probably erected around 1100. After its destruction by the French in 1689, the castle was rebuilt by Louis Fréderic Jacques Ravené in accordance with the fashion of Romanticism. The Cochem Castle is therefore a good example of a neo-Gothic building built during the period of Historism.
