About "Close encounter"

About the artwork

I strive to express a feeling of love and intimacy in an abstract way, without becoming distant. In my paintings I always look for people to be shown in an open way, so that you (the viewer) can identify your own feelings and give them a place. I like to express emotions of happiness, togetherness and comfort. I do this in a direct way. Immediately I put the paint on canvas, in this painting I had an idea in advance of what I wanted to portray, as I had made a sketch on paper. The painting continues while I work on it and I like to give space to the spontaneous developments between the paint, the canvas and the movement of my hand with a brush and palette knife. There is a lot of structure in the painting and there are also lines painted directly from the paint bottle. The combination of warm and cool tones (also silver) represent for me the totality of life, as well as light and shadow, warmth and coolness.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
