The Clifton Suspension Bridge in Bristol is a well-known landmark. The suspension bridge crosses the leafy valley of the River Avon. From the bridge you can look straight into the depths, but this photo was taken from the Clifton Observatory, from where you have a great view of both the gorge and the burg. The bridge was designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel, now deceased (even before he had a chance to see the work finished himself).
