The Traction Avant was one of the first cars to feature self-supporting bodies, independent suspension, installation of the engine behind and the transmission with integrated differential in front of the front axle, which also resulted in good load distribution. And the name Traction Avant already says it, it had front-wheel drive or front-wheel drive. In keeping with the motto of André Citroen: " Un cheval ne pousse pas. Ça tire. " / "A horse doesn't push. There's a draught". Thus this was the first car that went into mass production with front wheel drive!
