About ‘Chinese wall in mountain landscape’ by Jan Fritz
The 21,000 km long wall built of earth and stone in northern China dates mainly from the Ming dynasty. This defensive work had to defend the Chinese empire from hostile nomadic horsemen. In 1987, the wall was included in UNESCO's World Heritage List.
