Digital adaptation of the painting titled "Children of the Sea. Four children are playing with a toy sailboat in the water at the beach. The oldest boy carries a child on his back.
This lovely scene contains a message. The fishing children with their shabby clothes and meager toys give us a picture of their future. The oldest boy carries the burden of the family on his shoulders, and the little boat represents the hard life at sea. Jozef Israëls first painted this theme in 1863. It was hugely popular and Israels repeated it many times after that.

To this contemporary version, a visible sun has been added, the girl has a balloon in her hand and the sky has been raised. Art with a twist, from old masters and new masters.
