About the artwork

Digital adaptation of the painting titled 'Children of the sea'. Four children play with a toy sailboat in the water by the beach. The eldest boy carries a child on his back. This lovely scene contains a message. The fishing children with their shabby clothes and meagre toys give us a picture of their future. The eldest boy carries the burden of the family on his shoulders and the little boat represents the hard life at sea. Jozef Israëls first painted this theme in 1863. It was hugely popular and Israëls repeated it many times afterwards. An orange balloon has been added to this reworked version, as a nod to the present in which (fishing) children are fortunately allowed to live a much better life. About the image maker: as a born and bred Amsterdammer, Peter feels a close connection with the city of Amsterdam. Over the years, he has produced a lot of work, not only of Amsterdam, but also other cities at home and abroad fill his portfolio. Landscape and macro photography are also part of his work. He has also earned his spurs as a digital artist, especially with adaptations of old masters, such as this unique work. Peters' work is widely sold and hangs on walls in various European countries.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
