About ‘Chestnuts in the twilight’ by Jean Pierre

The camera points upwards from the ground and captures an intimate section of the autumn ground in high-resolution macro perspective, streaked with fallen leaves in warm tones. Nearly visible maple, oak and beech leaves lie on top of each other, their veins and edges pin-sharp; fine frost is visible on some edges, crystalline grains of ice glisten like tiny diamonds on the matt surface. Scattered among the foliage are shiny chestnuts and brown acorns, their smooth shells reflecting light and looking like small sculptures in the natural carpet. Some leaves are still floating in flight, frozen out of focus, while the foreground with dewdrops and frost crystals is resolved in detail. The extremely shallow depth of field leads the eye upwards along a subtle diagonal, where the ground finally merges into a soft bokeh.

In the distant background, the sky opens up: the sunset sends streaks of gold, apricot and cool pink through the blur, like a distant, warmly glowing veil. The evening light from the side emphasises relief and texture, casting soft shadows in the folds of the leaves and highlighting the frosty edges. The composition combines microstructure and a broad mood of light; you can feel the crunching sound of the leaves, smell the earthy coolness and feel the transition of the seasons. Overall, a dense, sensual autumn moment is created: fragile transience meets shining details, each pixel documents the quiet poetry of the forest floor in the transition to dusk.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
