Lianne on 'Catherine, child and Pipi Bear'
A beautiful painting of a mother with child. inspired by a painting by Frans Hals. In which he portrayed Catharina Hooft with her minus and an apple in her hand. In my version, they hold a Pipi Bear by Dutch artist Joseph Klibansky. Another beautiful Old Master with his own twist. Nice warm colours have been used on a background where a carpet shines through slightly. This painting also has nice gold details.
After many years of experimenting with different styles, materials and subjects, Lianne Schotman has now created her own unique technique.
She combines digital art with painting.
Putting together different images, colours and textures creates a beautiful interplay. Using a mixed media technique, she glues her digital prints onto a canvas. These are then painted again to make 1 whole. Her work can be called surrealistic, but with its own twist!
She has several favourite subjects such as famous icons (Marilyn Monroe), Old Masters with a modern twist, but she also likes to paint beautiful mysterious faces, merging rougher backgrounds, colours and a face.
I love art and I love trying out all kinds of things.
Would you like something in a different colour or looking for something just a little different? Or would you like an original painted painting? Lianne also works on commission. So feel free to contact her to discuss your wishes.
