About "Cat on the Lookout"

About the artwork

A cat emerges from the rough texture of paint surfaces, half fused with its surroundings. Broad strokes of white, beige and grey build an abstract landscape, from which the cat's figure detaches. Yet she remains connected to the background - as if she is as much a part of the paint as of the world she observes.

With her light fur and dark accents around eyes and nose, the cat stands alert, attentive, almost meditative. Her gaze is fixed on something outside the canvas, as if she is perceiving something that we as observers cannot see. She is a sentinel, a silent witness, absorbed in a hushed atmosphere.

The relief of palette knife and brush lends the depiction a tangible power. The painting is not just an image, but a surface full of traces, a landscape of paint from which the cat rises. This cat on the lookout embodies both presence and absence: visible yet almost evaporating into the background.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
