A cat lies blissfully on a bed of roses. With her eyes closed she seems to be smiling. While the toes of her bicoloured paws are nicely curled.
The contract of her mostly white fur with the darker roses and leaves make her stand out.
My own cat and how sweetly she sleeps served as inspiration for this work. I admire her for how sweetly she can catch her rest. I gave her a bed of roses because I think she deserves it.
A cat is a rewarding subject because they are naturally beautiful. Personally, I think my princess is the most beautiful, of course, but everyone will say that of their own pet.
Although I draw my inspiration from reality, I enjoy transforming it into graphics. For this, paper cutting is ideal. Of course, I don't cut everything, but also use drawing-like elements.
Since the work is both graphic and colourful, it will brighten up many an interior nicely, without being too present. Of course, the graphic technique also gives tranquillity and the colours are bright, but not too bright.
Particularly suitable for cat lovers.
My work distinguishes itself by strong colours and clear shapes. I work with ecoline, ink and pencil, but I also like to cut and paste.
I get my inspiration from nature and like to daydream. Animals and people sometimes seem to melt together in these reveries.
