Hunedoara Castle, also known as Corvin or Hunyadi Castle, is one of the most beautiful medieval castles in Romania. The castle is a Gothic castle in Romanian Transylvania. The oldest parts of the castle date from the 14th century. In the period 1446-1453, the Hunyadi dynasty expanded the fortress to its current proportions.
In the castle you can see some frescoes from the 15th to 17th century. In the courtyard is a well of 30 meters deep. According to a legend, this was dug by prisoners who took 15 years to complete. They were promised freedom, but this promise was eventually not kept.
