About ‘Castle Vorden’ by Annette Bon

Castle Vorden was first mentioned in 1315. The castle was under construction as a military structure, and was inhabited from 1315 onwards. In 1580, during the Eighty Years' War, it was plundered and restored thirty years later. Over the centuries, the house has been owned by various noble families, including that of Ripperda and from 1771 to 1974 by the Van der Borch family. After the Second World War, the castle is empty and is becoming more and more dilapidated. The castle is in a deplorable state when it came into the possession of Het Geldersch Landschap in 1974, together with the associated goods and land. The surrounding land is sold to the municipality of Vorden. In 1976 it was restored and functioned as the town hall of Vorden. In 2004, the (former) municipality of Vorden sold the castle to private individuals. These have restored the house to its former glory.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
